About the Department
The Orientation Team Leader serves an integral role in the Office of University Orientation by assisting in University Orientation and Fall Welcome Events, including, but not limited to the selection, training, and pseudo-supervision of the Orientation and Fall Welcome Team. The Orientation Team Leaders work both independently and collaboratively to fulfill the roles and responsibilities outlined below.

Position Duties
- Assist with recruitment, interviews, and selection of Orientation Leaders
- Assist with presenting Orientation Leader Information Sessions if offered
- Assist with the final preparations of Orientation Leader training sessions
- Serve as a liaison between Orientation Leaders and professional staff
- Provide leadership, constructive feedback, and motivation to orientation staff
- Follow daily placement schedule responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to students, families, and members of the BGSU community
- Promote and participate in activities for Fall Welcome events
- Support all functions of the Office of University Orientation as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience serving as an Orientation Leader at BGSU
- Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student through the upcoming Spring and Fall semesters
- A minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 upon applying and maintained throughout their role in this position
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Good communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills working and supporting others

Other Qualifications
- On-campus housing may be available if needed and arranged with the Director. Should accommodations be provided, students will live in a double residence hall room from approximately mid-May through late-June. Final confirmation of dates available for living in the residence hall will be confirmed with the Office of Student Housing and dates may vary according to hall availability.
- On-campus housing is not required; and it should be noted that there will not be a stipend to supplement housing if you choose to live off-campus. Parking is not included and must be arranged separately.

- Required Dates:
OTL Training Prep: Approximately 20 hours the week of May 4-8
OL Training: May 11-19
Orientation Dates: May 8 (Transfer Orientation), May 21, 26, 27, June 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 18
Fall Welcome Week: August 17-23 (This includes orientation dates on August 18 and 19)
