The Associate PCB Repair Technician is responsible for testing, diagnosing, and repairing various electronic systems, including PCBs to component level to ensure optimal functionality and quality standards. This role involves troubleshooting electronic components, performing detailed inspections, and collaborating with colleagues and engineering teams to resolve technical issues. The technician will also maintain accurate documentation of test results and repairs, contribute to continuous improvement efforts, and ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols.
This position reports to the Manager - Manufacturing in the PCB Repair department.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair Electronic Controls, Assemblies, Drives, and PCBs to component level.
- Conduct functional and performance tests to ensure repairs meet quality standards.
- Perform basic maintenance and repair of test equipment.
- Provide thorough and accurate Documentation of test, repair, and quality information.
- Continuously improve technical skills through training and hands-on experience to stay current with evolving technologies and repair methods.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:
- Associates degree in Electronics Or minimum of two years of hands-on experience repairing electronic assemblies, including printed circuit boards, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and component-level repair with completion of a high school diploma or GED.
- Experience soldering and desoldering through hole and surface mount components.
- Experience reading and understanding schematics and wiring diagrams
- Experience using basic electronic equipment including but not limited to oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Apply knowledge of basic electronics principles to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Ability to analyze Digital and analog circuits for proper function.
- Data Entry for recording and processing repairs.
- Proficient in signal tracing using electronic test equipment such as Oscilloscopes and Multimeters.
- Skilled in operating hand tools and equipment including soldering irons, cutters, pliers, screw drivers, drills, Dremel cutting tools, etc.
- Ability to perform diagnostics, testing, and repairs with precision and attention to detail.
- Must be able to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and regularly hold and carry items up to 20 pounds, in accordance with safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, or equivalent technical training in electronic systems and components.
- Experience replacing BGA devices.
- Familiarity with Servo Drives and various Power Supplies and Interfaces.
- Basic computer navigation and Data Entry skills.

FANUC American is seeking a qualified applicant for the Associate PCB Repair Technician role. The pay range for this position is $46,509- $75,712 per year. The pay range listed is based on both salary and other compensation, including bonuses and profit sharing, that an employee may be paid during their employment with FANUC America. A compensation package offered to a successful applicant will ultimately be determined by consideration of a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, an applicant’s geographic location, educational attainment, and level of experience.
