JOB GOAL
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Grants provides leadership for institutional research, assessment, strategic planning, accreditation, and workforce education reporting, while also overseeing grant development, compliance, and reporting. The AVP fosters a data-informed culture that advances student success, institutional accountability, and continuous improvement. This position works collaboratively with senior leadership, faculty, and staff to ensure alignment with the College’s mission, accreditation standards, and state and federal reporting requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Institutional Research & Effectiveness
- Provide leadership for institutional research, assessment, analytics, and benchmarking activities.
- Oversee state, federal, and workforce education reporting, including Perkins, IPEDS, FDOE, and other required submissions.
- Lead strategic planning processes and ensure data-driven decision-making across the College.
- Serve as the College’s Accreditation Liaison, overseeing reaffirmation, substantive change, periodic reporting, and program-level accreditation.
- Monitor compliance with accreditation standards and integrate requirements into planning and evaluation processes.
- Facilitate professional development for faculty and staff to strengthen data literacy and continuous improvement practices.
Grants Leadership
- Oversee institutional grants strategy, including pre- and post-award functions.
- Identify funding opportunities, develop competitive proposals, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and private grant requirements.
- Monitor grant budgets, outcomes, and reporting to ensure alignment with College priorities and external regulations.
- Support cross-college collaborations to advance innovation and workforce development through grant-funded initiatives.
Workforce & External Reporting
- Manage reporting for workforce and career education programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Partner with workforce and academic leadership to analyze program performance, labor market needs, and student outcomes.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of workforce grant and accountability reporting.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets; oversee staff recruitment, supervision, and professional development.
- Provide timely, accurate, and actionable data and reports to senior leadership, the Board of Trustees, and external agencies.
- Serve as a key advisor on institutional performance metrics, accountability measures, and strategic initiatives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, service, and continuous improvement across all reporting units.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in education, public administration, business administration, research/analytics, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in institutional effectiveness, research, accreditation, or higher education administration.
- Demonstrated leadership in grants administration (development, compliance, reporting) and workforce reporting.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of institutional research, accreditation processes, and higher education accountability systems.
- Demonstrated success in grant development, compliance, and reporting.
- Ability to oversee workforce reporting and align institutional programs with state and federal workforce requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the institution.
- Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Work Environment and Other Requirements
- Position requires some travel between campuses and external meetings.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed to support College activities.
