Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as an IT Support Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for all IT systems, software, and equipment used in the optical lab environment. You will work closely with lab personnel and management to ensure all systems operate smoothly and efficiently to support daily production and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for IT systems used in the optical lab, including hardware, software, networking, and lab equipment interfaces.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT systems, software, and lab-related applications.
- Partner with lab staff and supervisors to understand operational needs and provide tailored IT solutions.
- Train employees on how to effectively use IT systems and applications to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Document support processes, system changes, and recurring issues for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Stay current on industry technology and best practices to enhance IT systems within the optical lab environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of IT support experience, preferably in a manufacturing, optical lab, or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with software and systems commonly used in optical labs (e.g., lab management systems, lens processing equipment interfaces, order management systems).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
