PRIMARY FUNCTION: Turndown Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping

REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Turndown Supervisor provides direct operational support and supervision to the Turndown Attendants and 2nd shift Housekeeping team on a nightly basis. This role is essential to ensure smooth turndown services and active communication with the turndown attendants and the Front Desk. This role will have a full understanding of all departmental standards and act as the designated trainer for new Turndown Attendant hires. Additionally, the Turndown Supervisor will oversee all guest requests, public area requests and laundry services. 

Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: 

  • Create daily turndown assignments and distribute to all teammates at 5:00pm. 
  • Host daily 5:00pm line-up with teammates on shift and overview the evening (e.g., arrivals, occupied rooms, events on property, VIP guests and special attention guests).
  • Perform turndown service for VIP guests and other guests as needed.
  • Full and complete mastery of all Turndown standards. Act as department trainer for Turndown Attendants. 
  • Monitor Alice TURNDOWN requests and communicate with the staff appropriately. 
  • Monitor Alice public area requests and communicate accordingly. 
  • Monitor Alice room delivery requests, communicate accordingly and complete them as needed.
  • Compile a nightly log of all DND, Refuse Service rooms and completed turndown services.
  • Ensure compliance with Turndown standards, in-room amenities and proper room procedures by performing routine service audits. 
  • Provide direct feedback, communication and daily notes to management. 
  • Walk all floors, hallways, elevator landings and electrical closets to clear debris, in-room dining trays, trash and other miscellaneous items. 
  • Check that all closet doors and doors to elevators are fully shut. 
  • Monitor the soiled linen bins and clear the chute as necessary. 
  • Ensure all soiled linen bins are taken to the loading dock before the end of the night.
  • Check the cabinets on all elevator landings and make sure they are stocked and filled for the AM team the following day. This includes soaps, shampoo, conditioner, slippers, vanity kit, make-up wipes and shower caps. 
  • Provide steaming, pressing and ironing services as requested by guests. This includes proper billing to the guest rooms and accurately producing a receipt. 
  • Aid management about potential scheduling changes, conflicts and updates. 
  • Conduct routine inventories of supplies and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School diploma/GED required. 
  • Minimum of one year of hotel/hospitality experience. 
  • Preferred to have at least one year of supervisory experience. 
  • Ability to lift fifty pounds. 
  • Ability to bend or stand for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to work overtime, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Ability to operate hand tools and cleaning equipment. 
  • Ability to perform all aspects of the Housekeeping division.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Dependable work ethic with a positive attitude.
