Job Summary:

 

The Accounts Payable Clerk supports the financial operations of Goodwill Industries of Tulsa by ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. This role is responsible for entering invoice data into the payables system using department-provided coding, preparing payments via electronic and paper methods, and maintaining organized records. The Accounts Payable Clerk plays a key role in maintaining vendor relationships and supporting the integrity of the organization’s financial systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Enter invoice amounts and coding into the accounts payable system based on information provided by management.
  • Prepare and process payments via ACH, wire transfer, and paper checks.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders or payment authorizations when applicable.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date vendor files and payment records.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and accounts payable reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
  • Support the Controller and accounting team with documentation for audits and reporting.

Other Job Functions:

  • Assist with scanning, filing, and archiving of financial documents.
  • Monitor invoice aging and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all Goodwill policies, including safety, ethics, and EEO.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • 1–2 years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or related clerical role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
