Position Overview:

The Commissioning & Completions Manager will play a key role in supporting the turnover process from construction to commissioning and ultimately to operations, ensuring all project systems are properly documented, inspected, and handed over efficiently. This position will focus on coordinating construction, quality assurance, and completions activities, working closely with contractors, commissioning team, and project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will assist in tracking completions progress, managing documentation, facilitating walkdowns, and ensuring quality compliance to support a smooth transition through project phases. This role reports directly to the Director, Construction and Commissioning and collaborates with construction, engineering, and operations teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the commissioning execution plan, schedule, and resource forecasts.
  • Lead daily commissioning coordination meetings to align disciplines, contractors, and vendors.
  • Manage Commissioning Superintendents, assigning system priorities and ensuring execution readiness.
  • Coordinate and facilitate PSSRs, energization reviews, and turnover walkdowns with operations and EHS.
  • Drive execution of pre-commissioning, commissioning , and startup work in alignment with the completions system and project turnover strategy.
  • Interface with engineering to resolve design or scope gaps that impact commissioning.
  • Monitor progress and punch list closure to support system handover targets.
  • Maintain alignment between commissioning and construction to avoid work conflicts and ensure safe system transitions.
  • Lead cause & effect testing, operational testing, and performance verification efforts.
  • Ensure commissioning documentation (check sheets, red lines, punch lists) is completed, signed off, and entered into the completions system (e .g ., Hexagon). 
  • Provide weekly reporting to project leadership on commissioning progress and system readiness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in commissioning and startup of industrial or capital projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership of multi-discipline commissioning teams across complex project scopes.
  • Strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process systems.
  • Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, control narratives, C&E matrices, and loop drawings.
  • Experience with completions systems (e .g., Hexag on Smart Completions) and turnover workflows.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across field and office teams.
