Job Description:
We’re seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to drive our product development team and bring new ideas to life. You’ll oversee design feasibility, ensure product quality, and collaborate directly with customers to turn technical requirements into real solutions. Working with design, production, procurement, and sales, you’ll help shape products that succeed in both wholesale and retail markets—all while guiding and inspiring your team to deliver at the highest level.
Here are examples of the actual work your day would include.
Technical Contribution (60%)
- Serve as primary engineering resource on critical projects, contributing directly to design, analysis, prototyping, and testing
- Develop and refine solutions that meet performance, safety, and cost requirements for both new and existing products
- Provide technical expertise across projects, solving complex engineering challenges
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and applicable regulations
Leadership & Project Management (40%)
- Lead and mentor a team of 4 to 6 engineers, providing guidance, support, and feedback to foster growth and high performance
- Oversee project execution, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between engineering and other departments (product development, operations, manufacturing, etc.)
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to ensure on-time and successful delivery
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team
- Engage with customers both in-person and online to uncover product challenges, then share findings and potential solutions with stakeholders
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following knowledge and skills:
- A degree in Engineering; Electrical Engineering a plus
- Confident navigating electrical environments, with hands-on experience in electrical projects and familiarity with IoT technologies
- Prior leadership or project management experience (formal or informal), with the ability to inspire and guide a team
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
- Hands-on, collaborative approach to engineering challenges
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving project needs
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager who sees the big picture and shapes it. This Engineering Manager position requires proficiency in typing, the ability to sit at a desk, and the capacity to focus on a computer screen. This position requires manual dexterity for working with small components, ability to complete repetitive motions for long periods of time, bending, continual lifting, lowering and carrying products that typically weigh 25 - 50 lbs., and managing products up to 150 lbs., as well as standing/stooping for long periods of time.
Availability
This onsite position is located at 15425 Chets Way, Armada, MI, 48005. You must be available to work 8 hours between 7am and 6pm Monday – Friday with the occasional evening or Saturday for projects that must be done outside of normal business hours. Occasional opportunities to travel to support with customer or supplier visits; approximately 7-10 days per year.
