Job Summary:
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to assist the Production Manager and lead production operations on our Night Shift. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating production activities to meet scheduled manufacturing requirements, ensure quality standards, and promote continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organizational, communication, and technical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Production Manager in daily operations; assume leadership responsibilities of operations team.
- Recommend and implement improvements to production methods, equipment efficiency, and product quality.
- Enforce company policies, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain and review production and timekeeping records.
- Analyze and resolve work-related issues quickly and effectively.
- Initiate necessary maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
- Provide training on equipment and procedures to ensure operational competency.
- Interpret production schedules and estimate labor requirements to meet shipping deadlines.
- Coordinate departmental activities to ensure complete and timely assembly of components.
- Suggest and implement changes to improve workflow, efficiency, and employee productivity.
- Guide employees on design standards and shop specifications.
- Request and implement Engineering Change Orders/Requests (ECO/ECR) for process improvement.
- Conduct and verify inspections including First Article and final inspections as needed.
- Monitor and mentor new employees to ensure seamless onboarding and integration.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly 5S (workplace organization) tasks.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing leadership role.
- Strong understanding of production equipment, processes, and safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schedules, and production documentation.
- Experience with performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma environments.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and production scheduling software
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment
- May require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods
