Summary

The Decision Support Specialist analyzes, interprets, and reports on complex data to help organizational leadership make informed business decisions. This role bridges the gap between raw data and business strategy by translating information into actionable insights and presenting them in a clear, understandable format. The position supports short- and long-term resource allocation decisions that advance the Vision of Radiology Associates of North Texas.

Essential Functions

  • Data Analysis & Modeling: Analyze and interpret complex data sets from multiple sources to identify radiologist compensation trends and business partner opportunities.
  •  Reporting & Visualization: Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and other visualization tools using business intelligence (BI) software to effectively present data to stakeholders.
  • Strategic Consultation: Collaborate with managers and executives across departments to understand business objectives, reporting needs, and challenges. Assist in developing business plans and financial models designed to support growth.
  • Performance Monitoring: Conduct studies and analyses to measure and monitor organizational performance against key indicators. Provide recommendations for improvement and assist in developing new reports to determine profitability by facility, slot, and CPT code.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Respond to and fulfill ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from leadership in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Data Integrity: Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all reported information.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: 1–5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or decision support. Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and functions.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities, with the ability to systematically identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical stakeholders and interact professionally with physicians, directors, managers, and colleagues.

Soft Skills:

  • High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize work to accurately complete projects or assignments on schedule.
  • Ability to make intelligent decisions independently and collaboratively, contributing recommendations for issue resolution.
  • Ability to work in strict confidence, ensuring the confidentiality of patient, medical, and financial records in compliance with company policies and HIPAA Privacy guidelines.
