AFRY Management Consulting is looking to hire a Consultant to support the growth of its consulting activities in Colombia and Latin America

AFRY Management Consulting has already successfully entered this geography under the lead of AFRY Management Consulting’s office in Madrid, Spain. In particular through the sound modelling of its electricity markets, and has been advising a number of investors in renewable energy or in energy networks to help them develop their businesses; the next step of this development is now to reinforce our local presence to gather local insights in the market, enhance our visibility in the region and accelerate our growth, in line with global AFRY group’s objective

This position is aimed at an experienced professional who combines a strong background in the energy sector with advanced expertise in market regulation and modelling capabilities for market and financial modelling purposes.

As part of the consulting team you will:

• Lead projects for major clients across Latin America, providing strategic advice on energy markets, tariffs and regulation.
• Operate AFRY market model BID3 , delivering accurate and meaningful price forecasts from a technical and rationale perspective.
• Develop and review financial and market models, delivering independent and data-driven insights to investors, utilities, and regulatory bodies.
• Drive client interaction, building long-term trusted relationships with decision makers and stakeholders.
• Prepare project proposals ensuring compliance with the RFP terms.
• Represent AFRY in industry discussions and forums, reinforcing our position as the most recommended advisor for the energy transition.

Below we explain the main skills that we look for in our consultants.

• At least  5 years of professional experience in energy markets, managing consulting, financial advisory, or related fields.
• Strong expertise in financial or market modelling and quantitative analysis, with proven ability to design, validate and present complex models to stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of energy tariffs and regulation in Colombia and/or other Latin American markets.
• Proven project management and ability to ensure delivery of high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent client-facing skills, with track record of building trusted relationships with senior executives, regulators and investors.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, with strong presentation and report-writing capabilities.
• Strategic mindset and commercial orientation, able to identify opportunities and contribute to business development.
• Passion for the energy transition, with a deep understanding of sustainability challenges and market dynamics in the region.

Highly valued:

• Programming and data analytics skills (e.g. Python, R, VBA, SQL) and familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableu).
• Microsoft tools excell ppt
• Advanced analytical and quantitative skills. We undertake a lot of complex analysis, a good proportion of which is numerical, so we are looking for people with an aptitude for complex quantitative and qualitative analysis, statistics, manipulation of large data and diverse mathematical models. This includes the ability to pay attention to detail and use MS Excel proficiently, understanding programming logic, and creative problem solving skills.
• Prior experience in transactions, renewable energy projects, or energy policy development.
• International experience and ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and geographies.

AFRY Management Consulting is willing to create this position to grow its activities in Colombia and Latin America. The selected candidate will be based in Bogota, with international travel required.
