Job Summary:
Monitor Metronet Business’ production network to ensure its integrity, health, and stability. They will recommend improvements to surveillance systems as needed and collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and facility providers to resolve infrastructure issues.

What you will be doing:
- Install and mount hardware, including racks and bays.
- Run, lace, terminate, and dress network and power cables.
- Install, test, and commission small DC power plants (200A–1500A).
- Cross-connect fiber jumpers/RG6 cabling between equipment.
- Complete work orders accurately and perform break/fix troubleshooting on equipment, lines, and DC power.
- Act as eyes and hands for the NOC during troubleshooting.
- Perform, document, and inspect quarterly preventive maintenance on HVAC, generators, DC battery and rectifier plants, and other facility network assets.
- Conduct monthly inspections and generate environmental alarms for the NOC.
- Read and interpret technical work orders, project drawings, and manufacturer installation documentation.
- Work independently with live AC/DC power equipment.
- Configure equipment using serial connections or TCP/IP for proper telemetry/alarm data.
- Ensure system operation, reliability, and quality for off-air towers, satellite earth stations, head-end, and hub site equipment.
- Follow company procedures for troubleshooting, testing, and routine or periodic maintenance.
- Interface professionally with third-party co-location providers and vendors.
- Participate in rotating on-call duties as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
What you need for this position:
- High School diploma, technical school, or GED required
- 3 years of experience working as an installer/technician for a Telecommunications or Cable Television company
- Valid driver’s license required and a good driving record
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
