This position offers the opportunity to shape the firm’s presence in the evolving power generation market, particularly in support of grid reliability, dispatchable energy, and energy transition goals.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of duties and will see you involved in:
Business Development & Market Leadership
- Lead the identification, pursuit, and capture of gas power generation projects (simple/combined cycle, cogeneration) with OEMs, utilities, IPPs, data-center owners, and developers.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies in collaboration with regional BD teams and practice leaders.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders across the power sector.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and regulatory forums.
Project Execution Oversight
- Provide high-level technical and strategic oversight to multidisciplinary project teams during pre-FEED, FEED, EPC, and Owner’s Engineer phases.
- Apply deep knowledge of contract formation, budgeting, cost control, and tender evaluation to mitigate risk and ensure project success.
Team Development & Resource Mobilization
- Advise and assist in building and growing a team of project managers, engineers, and technical specialists through a combination of internal resourcing and new hires.
- Work with global and regional leaders to align talent and capabilities with strategic opportunities.
- Help foster a high-performance culture of technical excellence, client focus, and mentorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Systems Engineering (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in gas power plant design, development, or execution, including combined cycle or simple cycle plants.
- Demonstrated success in business development, capture strategy, and client relationship management in the power sector.
- Deep technical experience with engineering management, project delivery, contracts, and cost control.
- Familiarity with power markets, permitting, and regulatory environments across North America (e.g., ERCOT, PJM, WECC).
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to build and manage high-performing technical teams across geographies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with an engineering consultancy, EPC Contractor firm, OEM, utility, or power developer.
- Knowledge of energy transition trends, including integration of gas power with renewable or storage assets.
- Proven expertise in gas turbine technology (simple and combined cycle), including design, commissioning, or performance optimization.
- Proven business development success with private developers and large power users (e.g. data centers, advanced manufacturing).
- Understanding of commercial models (IPP, PPA structures, tolling, merchant risk, etc.).
- Ability to speak fluently across technical, commercial, and strategic dimensions of power development.
