Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Analyst to join our team and take a lead role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of payroll operations. Payroll Processing
- Process of end-to-end payroll for multiple employee groups, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Prepare and validate payroll inputs, including time and attendance data, deductions, bonuses, and commissions.
- Ensure accurate payroll outputs, including paychecks, direct deposits, and payroll reports.
Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare detailed reports on payroll costs for Finance, reconciliation of benefits deductions, and labor analytics.
- Support financial audits, internal audits, and compliance reviews with required payroll documentation.
- Other special projects and analysis as needed
- Assist with administering certain benefits programs (short term life, 401k, disability)
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure adherence to payroll-related legislation and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate payroll records in compliance with retention and confidentiality standards.
- Assist with quarterly and year-end activities, including W-2, retirement plan, benefits and tax reconciliation.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Act as a subject matter expert on the payroll system and participate in system upgrades, testing, and integrations.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline payroll operations and enhance accuracy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and IT teams to resolve payroll-related issues.
Stakeholder Support
- Serve as an escalation point for complex payroll inquiries from employees and stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to junior payroll team members as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience) or;
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on payroll experience in a mid-to-large size organization.
- Advanced knowledge of payroll systems (ADP preferred).
- Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, FLSA, and wage and hour laws.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
