Summary: The Spa Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and operation of the spa’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including pools, jacuzzies, gym equipment, showers, and HVAC. This role ensures that all equipment and facilities remain safe, clean, and in excellent working condition for our guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitor, maintain, and repair spa facilities including pool systems, jacuzzies, sauna/steam rooms, showers, and gym equipment.
  • Oversee pool water treatment, chemical balance, and filtration systems in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance and inspections of all equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the housekeeping and spa teams to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and safety compliance records.
  • Support capital improvement projects and equipment upgrades as needed.
  • Ensure that physical condition of the property is maintained according to company operating and safety standards.
  • Organize and prioritize service requests and general maintenance tasks. Ensure that all service orders are properly documented in accordance with the company’s service order procedures.
  • Must be knowledgeable of inventory levels of spare parts and supplies and inform supervisor of shortages.
  • Maintains the Spa swimming pools. Duties include:
    • Regularly testing swimming pool water quality and pH balance
    • Treats swimming pool to maintain proper chemical balance
    • Ensure the swimming pool is clean and perform schedule cleaning duties
    • Maintenance as required
    • May be required to obtain CPO certification
  • Adhere to the company's safety programs, policies and procedures.
  • Participate in company training classes, as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
     

Supervisory Responsibilities:        
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities


Education and/or Experience:                   
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED). 

Employee must be capable of operating a variety of equipment relative to this position which shall include, but not limited to, trucks, electric power tools, levels, shovels, picks, masonry equipment, ladders, and other hand and power tools that are needed to complete a certain task in a safe and effective manner. All equipment must be used without jeopardizing the safety of themselves, fellow employees and residents. Appropriate safety equipment and apparel must be worn.


Language Skills:                   
Ability to read a multi-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. The ability to read and write at the 12th grade level.
 

Mathematical Skills:                   
Basic understanding of algebra and geometry at a 12th grade level.
 

Reasoning Ability:                   
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out multistep instructions.  Be able to identify complex problems and determine root cause for prevention and repair.
 

Other Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an Engineer, Maintenance Technician, or Facilities Specialist in hospitality, spa, or fitness environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of pool and jacuzzi systems, pumps, boilers, and water treatment required.
  • Strong electrical, plumbing, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Certification in pool operations (CPO) a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends or evenings as needed.
  • Equipment: Position requires individuals to furnish their own vehicle when needed for transportation for shift and call in work. 
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Must have valid Colorado driver’s license, and must present the driver’s license for verification to HR.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as directed. 
  • Must be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher.
  • Must be able to function effectively in all inclement weather conditions.
     

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Employee must be able to work a 40-hour work week. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to traverse on uneven and rough terrain, as well as paved and unpaved trails, use hands and arms to handle and manipulate objects, tools or controls; and operate foot controls on equipment.  The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.  When operating equipment, the employee is frequently exposed to bouncing, jostling, twisting and turning of the upper body.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 lbs.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, as well as wet and slippery conditions.  While outside the employee is occasionally exposed to direct sunlight, dust, pollen and equipment exhaust fumes. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when around machinery or equipment.

The wage for this position is $24.00-$26.00/hr DOE
