About the Department
Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is currently accepting applications for multiple Maintenance & Operations Technician positions. Applications will be screened after the following filing deadlines at 5PM:

Under general supervision or under the lead direction of a designated crew chief, incumbents work independently or as lead members of a small work crew involved in the maintenance, repair, minor construction, and/or inspection of assigned underground pipelines, pumps, and lift stations for the wastewater collection system of the Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer). Employees in this class are expected to possess knowledge and demonstrate proficiency in all assigned areas of responsibility to include maintenance, minor construction, repair, jet flush cleaning operations, television (TV) inspections, and pumping station operations and maintenance.
Either: 1. Two (2) years of full-time, paid experience with SacSewer Collections in the Maintenance & Operations Assistant class or Underground Construction & Maintenance Specialist class, performing maintenance, construction, repair, cleaning, inspection, or operation duties of underground pipeline systems and/or pump/lift stations
AND
The Grade 1 California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Collection System Maintenance Certification.
Or: 2. Completion of two (2) years apprenticeship program as a plumber.
AND
One (1) year of full-time, paid experience performing maintenance, construction, repair, cleaning, inspection, or operation duties of underground pipeline systems and/or pump/lift stations.
AND
The Grade 1 California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Collection System Maintenance Certification.
Or: 3. Three (3) years of full-time, paid experience in the maintenance, construction, repair, cleaning, inspection, or operation of underground pipeline systems and/or pump/lift stations.
AND
The Grade 1 California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Collection System Maintenance Certification.
Note: Completion of 60 semester units or more (or 90 quarter units or more) at an accredited trade school, junior college, or university with a minimum of 30 semester units (or 45 quarter units) in mechanical-electrical technology, construction management, civil engineering, or other field closely related to the intent of the class may be substituted for one year of experience.
