Position Overview
The HR Generalist will provide comprehensive support across multiple areas of Human Resources, including payroll, benefits, compliance, employee relations, and HR systems administration. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable handling day-to-day operations while also assisting with special projects and organizational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll & Compliance
- Administer and process bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage state tax account setup and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with ACA reporting and other regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Finance to reconcile payroll and resolve discrepancies.
Benefits & Leaves
- Lead benefits administration including open enrollment, new hire enrollments, and ongoing maintenance.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries and issue resolution.
- Manage employee leaves of absence (LOAs), including coordination with EDD and other agencies.
- Support benefits compliance and reporting requirements.
HR Systems & Reporting
- Maintain and optimize BambooHR; train employees and managers on system use.
- Generate and analyze HR reports for Accounting and other departments.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate HR records.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Provide day-to-day support for employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Assist in planning and executing company-wide meetings, events, and engagement initiatives.
- Support updates to the employee handbook and HR policies.
General HR & Administration
- Provide HR support to leadership and employees across departments.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and HR initiatives.
- Serve as backup for front desk operations as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with direct experience in payroll and benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of ACA reporting, payroll systems, and multi-state compliance.
- Experience with HRIS platforms; BambooHR experience strongly preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
