The Role

The Dyno Nobel Moranbah Plant is a fully-integrated Ammonium Nitrate complex based in Central Queensland. The facility comprises ammonia, nitric acid and ammonium nitrate plants plus infrastructure, utilities, power generation and housing to support the permanent workforce.

Reporting to the Shift Team Leader you will be responsible for meeting production volume, safety and quality targets in a team environment. Additionally, you will be required to resolve operating issues as they arise utilising consultative methods across site departments. The site has a strong focus on continuous improvement and will seek input from all levels to contribute to best practice. 

 On a daily basis, this role will see you:

  • Participate in departmental safety program
  • Monitor plant condition and intervene if necessary
  • Perform minor maintenance on plant and equipment if competent to do so and assist in maintenance activities to aid in the timely restart of the plant.
  • Participate in execution of start-up and shutdown of plant when required
  • Administer basic tests to assist process control ensuring quality and service standards are achieved

 

What you’ll bring  

We are looking to hear from people with experience in a continuous production environment such as Ammonia production. We are specifically looking for people with Ammonia and/or Nitric Acid experience. You will display a desire to progress within our organisation, be a committed team player with a strong emphasis on safety, customer service and achieving results.

 

Other desired skills and experience Include:

  • Experience in Ammonia/Nitric Acid Plant operation, DCS experience is essential
  • High levels of mechanical aptitude and process troubleshooting skills.
  • DCS systems and exposure to process control systems, a definite advantage.
  • Advanced Boiler, Steam Turbine ticket will be an asset
  • Demonstrated capability in working collaboratively and working to tight deadlines.
  • Basic computer literacy skills
  • Willingness to join or experience with site-based Emergency Response Teams
  • Strong ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
