Purpose of Position:
Accountable for Infection Control and Employee Health programs, including collaboration with other health professionals and patient care services in implementing infection control principles to reduce the risk of infection to patients, families, and personnel; Coordinate the wide range of services involved in an active employee health program.

Essential Functions:
- Identify factors in the work environment that are current or potential hazard to employee health and collaborate with other safety and personnel officials to minimize their impact or prevent their occurrence
- Monitor the inpatient unit daily by reviewing charts to assess for possible hospital-acquired infections.
- Develop, maintain, and evaluate a surveillance process to identify acquired infections and environmental hazards, integrating clinical findings, direct patient care observations, laboratory results and other diagnostic tests
- Develop a process for collecting and analyzing infection control data to decrease the risk of exposure, morbidity and mortality and to improve patient outcomes and evaluate the efficacy of program activities
- Screen employees for potential health problems (i.e. PPD testing, Health Risk Appraisal, Blood Pressure checks, etc.), provide employees with Health Promotion, Disease Prevention information and counsel employees concerning wellness issues
- Provide resource expertise regarding infection control and epidemiological issues and is available to advise caregivers as issues arise
- Perform other duties as assigned

∙Travel is required via small (less than 16 passenger) aircraft
∙Travel is required using snowmobiles, all terrain vehicles, or boat
