POSITION SUMMARY:
The General Maintenance Technician team member is responsible for the routine maintenance and general repair of the buildings and surrounding grounds at the Arizona Boardwalk. This position requires critical thinking, attention to detail, effective communication, excellent guest service skills, and the ability to follow and execute directions precisely while also working safely and efficiently.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing.
- Maintains all equipment used by AZB team members.
- Maintains all mechanical maintenance/inspection logs.
- Works with the tenant team when directed by the Director of Engineering and Manager.
- Assist in bug control of the building and exterior grounds.
- Assist in upholding policies and procedures of Fire Policy and Osha regulations.
- Assist in maintaining safety and fire equipment/procedures.
- Assist in inspecting the building for repairs and equipment needing replacement parts or service.
- Inspect completed work by vendors and tenants.
- Assist with inventory control, supplies, and keys.
- Coordinate with vendors when Maintenance Manager needs backup
- Event and operation coverage on weekends
- Assists event staff in mechanical and/or labor as needed
- Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor
- Performs Housekeeping duties as needed
- Perform all other duties as required by the business.
Requirements
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a high school diploma, or GED
- Must have at least 2 years experience in maintenance or related fields
- Valid Arizona drivers’ license and clean driving record.
- Safe and efficient work style
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and procedures.
- knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays
- Bilingual a plus
PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug testing and background investigation.
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical tasks exerting up to 60 lbs. of force frequently and up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to operate a computer and keyboard.
- Ability to work in an environment that may be loud at times.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, including occasional extreme hot or cold, and wet and/or humid conditions.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, or crawl.
- Required to frequently talk and hear.
- No impairment of sight, smell, hearing, touch, balance, and agility of movement which might interfere with the ability to work.
- Specific vision requirement for this job includes close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
