Senior Accountant, Temporary position available (up to 12 months), based in Sydney CBD + hybrid/flexible working options available.

 A temporary opportunity has become available for a proactive individual to join the NSW Telco Authority (NSWTA) Finance team at the Department of Customer Service. You will provide management accounting services, reports, advice, and support to management to ensure financial performance is consistent with best practice.

  •  Temporary position available – up to 12 months (Maternity leave back fill), with the possibility to extend or make going if another position arises across the team
  •  Salary, Clerk Grade 9/10: $129,464 - $142,665+ super, commensurate with experience
  •  Based in Sydney CBD with hybrid and flexible working options available

 Key accountabilities

  •  Partner with NSWTA stakeholders to support sustainable financial performance, providing regular reports, insights, commentary and recommendations.
  •  Deliver on routine management accounting tasks including reporting, forecasting and budgeting.
  •  Undertake financial analysis including recommendations for investment strategies and the impact on net costs for initiatives and projects for business units to ensure financial and commercial viability and optimal return on investments.
  •  Perform complicated reconciliation and variance analysis.
  •  Contribute to process improvement initiatives, with a focus on automating manual tasks.
  •  Participated in delivery the financial reporting and statutory reporting requirement for NSWTA.
  •  Other ad-hoc tasks as required to support the optimal delivery of service for customers.

 Key requirements

  •  Depth of experience in Finance Business Partnering.
  •  Proactive individual with great attention to detail.
  •  Strong communication skills, with the ability to rapidly develop trusted relationships with stakeholders.
  •  Strong technical accounting skills.
  •  Natural multitasker to manage competing priorities within short deadlines.
  •  Tertiary accounting qualifications.
