Job summary
Purpose
Contribute to ongoing service improvement and clinical and workforce innovation to ensure Monash Health provides high quality accessible Orthopaedic Services within allocated resources and meets the needs of Monash Health patients.
Key result areas
- Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care.
- Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care.
- Be immediately available for urgent consultation and assistance in resuscitation and subsequent management of critically ill or injured patients.
- Provide care to complex paediatric spinal patients.

Responsibilities
· Contribute to the provision of excellence in clinical services, research, education and knowledge transfer within Orthopaedic medicine & paediatric spine.
· Contribute to processes ensuring patients receive high quality services and continuity of care, and that high quality clinical standards and clinical outcomes and risk management approaches and accreditation requirements are achieved.
· Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a high quality multidisciplinary team, appropriate access to Orthopaedic services, open communication, collaborative working relationships and professional behaviours at all times.
· Duties as outlined in the relevant Enterprise Agreement
· Supervise Junior Medical Staff in your Unit and ensure that when on-call or on ward service, clear instructions are provided on when and how junior staff reporting to you should contact you for patient related matters
· Build supportive relations with Junior Medical Staff who report to you and encourage open communication including escalation of clinical and non-clinical concerns.

Essential
· Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
· Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
· Fellowship of the RACS and Australian Orthopaedic Association or equivalent
· Working with Children's Certificate The incumbent must complete the Credentialling and Scope of Practice process prior to appointment and commencement. This will be reviewed on a regular basis. Technical skills/knowledge/experience Professionalism

· As we support a culture of safety through employee immunisation, there must be documentation provided confirming completed immunisation on employment at Monash Health
· Current and satisfactory Police Check (must also comply with Aged Care Act 1997 Accountability Amendment Principles 2012 if working in Aged Care setting)
· Current and satisfactory Working with Children Check.
