Summary: The Ingredient Account Manager will be responsible for ingredient feed sales domestically and globally targeting all animal segments. Will provide top customer service while managing all aspects of sales and will work closely with the company’s technical services and nutrition team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Establishing relationships with nutritionists, key ingredient buyers, product development, quality and senior management personnel at potential customers
  • Selling value-added feed ingredients in the various animal markets, including negotiation of agreements
  • Developing long-term partnerships that result in increased sales and margins growth
  • Ensuring optimal customer satisfaction
  • Developing and managing resource planning and sales forecasts with V.P. Global Ingredient Sales
  • Partnering with Green Plains teams in Operations, QA/QC, Technical Services, Commercial Operations, Communications, and Regulatory Affairs
  • Understanding the competitive landscape and market trends to communicate back to the organization
  • Developing and maintaining an active presence at tradeshows and conferences, both domestically and internationally
  • Supporting product development with customer insights
  • Performing additional responsibilities as needed and required

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with customer and industry connections in animal feed sectors
  • Intimate knowledge of the animal feed markets, both from a commercial and technical perspective
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing sales strategies
  • Outstanding organizational awareness
  • Solid business acumen with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Desire to own projects and exceed expectations, with ability to find solutions and deliver results within a rapidly growing organization
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel 50+%
  • International experience
  • MBA or technical degree in nutrition preferred
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus
