UVA | Northern Virginia is seeking a Content Marketing Coordinator with strong storytelling and interpersonal skills to support all content marketing for the unit. Responsibilities include concepting, writing, designing, editing, and publishing content across various social media platforms and the unit's website blog. The position will develop a mix of written, visual, and interactive content to engage diverse audiences, promote UVA | Northern Virginia programs, and increase the unit's online presence. This person should be a self-starter who works effectively within a team environment and on their own. This position will work directly with the Associate Director of Communications and closely with the UVA | Northern Virginia leadership team. This position will gain insight into the general work culture of an entrepreneurial unit. This job is 10-20 hours a week.
We are seeking candidates with experience and/or interest in a diverse range of content types, such as graphic design, blog posts and articles, social media, videography, photography, etc. Candidates with experience and/or interest in marketing are encouraged to apply.
Pay rate: $18/hour
This position will work remotely from Charlottesville.
Job Requirements
Brainstorm and concept development for social media and blog content.
Write, edit, and proofread social media posts, articles, and blog content.
Create and curate visual and multimedia content (images, videos, graphics).
Work with Associate Director of Communications to schedule and post content across social media platforms and the website's blog.
Learn and adopt the UVA Brand Guidelines throughout all brand messaging & content.
Monitor engagement and suggest optimizations based on performance data.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Current UVA student
Experience:
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Proficient knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Experience in content creation, marketing, or communications.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Licensure: None
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs
