We are seeking a Technical Coordinator to join our team in Alexandria, VA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate technical activities across multiple teams, ensuring alignment with project and program objectives.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation in collaboration with project managers.
- Track deliverables, timelines, and milestones, escalating risks or delays as needed.
- Assist in setting up technical meetings, workshops, and reviews; document and follow up on action items.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare, update, and maintain technical documents, reports, and records (e.g., technical specifications, design documents, test results, compliance reports).
- Ensure documentation adheres to organizational and regulatory standards.
- Generate progress reports and status updates for leadership and stakeholders.
Communication & Stakeholder Support
- Serve as a point of contact between technical teams, management, and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate clear communication to avoid misalignment between technical and non-technical personnel.
- Translate technical details into clear, actionable information for diverse audiences.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Support compliance with industry standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with audits, quality reviews, and process improvement initiatives.
- Monitor adherence to established technical procedures, workflows, and checklists.
Tools & Systems Support
- Coordinate the setup, use, and maintenance of technical tools, platforms, and systems.
- Provide basic troubleshooting support and liaise with IT or vendors when needed.
- Help track software licenses, hardware resources, and technical assets.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify and monitor technical risks and dependencies across projects.
- Maintain risk registers and issue logs, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
- Contribute to developing mitigation and contingency plans.
Work Experience and Job Skills:
- Proven experience in project coordination, technical support, or administrative roles in a technical environment.
- Knowledge of technical documentation standards and quality management practices.
- Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar).
- Prior experience in a Program/Project Management Office (PMO) or technical operations role desired
- Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, or other project management methodologies.
- Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., government, defense, healthcare, or finance).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) desired.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
- Industry-specific certifications (e.g. ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Project+) desired
Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
Travel:
- Willing to travel occasionally as needed (up to 10%)
Environmental Requirements
- Mainly sedentary; in an office environment
- May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds
- Flexible in working extended hours
