Pay: $1,929.60/week (plus $2,350 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,050 after three contracts)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Salem, VA on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide prompt, high-quality care to patients with urgent, emergent, and life-threatening conditions. The ideal candidate has strong emergency nursing experience, thrives in fast-paced, high-acuity environments, and is committed to delivering safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid triage, assessment, and intervention for patients with emergent and critical conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to stabilize and treat patients.
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and responses to treatment.
- Assist in trauma care, resuscitation efforts, and emergency procedures.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient progress.
- Adhere to infection control standards, safety protocols, and evidence-based practices in emergency nursing.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in Virginia (or compact eligibility).
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent ED nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); PALS and TNCC preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills in high-pressure environments.
- Compassionate and adaptable approach to patient care.
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
