Summary of Description:
This position is responsible for managing the financial process and records of the Accounting department, including supervision of assigned Accounting staff.
Duties:
- Oversees all accounting functions, including but not limited to payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepares internal and external financial statements in a timely manner.
- Reviews departmental reports, cost projections, and other financial data as needed.
- Provides management with financial information pertinent to business decisions.
- Prepares and manages the annual budget and provides periodic updates to all department heads.
- Manages cash flow and prepares regular cash projections to ensure cash is available to cover all upcoming expenses.
- Reviews financial information and documents on a monthly and annual basis.
- Manages and reviews all general ledger bookkeeping to identify any irregularities that need to be corrected and advises the Accounting Manager on any corrections necessary.
- Recommends and implements new work-related processes.
- Prepares financial information for external C.P.A as needed for preparation of tax returns.
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and financial ethics in all business transactions and communications.
- Acts as a good steward of ReCon’s resources in all work-related activities.
- Supervises and manages the Accounting Manager.
- Oversees work priorities, goals, expectations, and deadlines set by the Accounting Manager.
- Conducts regular follow-up to ensure the Accounting department is meeting expectations. Addresses and documents concerns in a timely manner. Consults with Human Resources as applicable.
- Plans and implements staff cross-training opportunities, experiential learning activities, and job-related training to develop employee skills for current and future job assignments, as applicable.
- Serves as a “mentor” for the Accounting department.
- Ensures administrative requirements are completed timely, as applicable. This includes but is not limited to Employee Performance Reviews, Timesheets, Employee Journals, and Computer-Based Training courses (CBT’s).
- Ensures oversight of all assigned ReCon policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and at least five (5) years accounting and supervisory experience, including experience with the financial closing process; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- C.P.A. License preferred
Additional Skills:
- Experience with the financial closing process and issuing financial statements.
- Experience with budget preparation and analysis and cash management.
- Working knowledge of accounting standards and principles (GAAP).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.
- Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
