Are you a dynamic leader who’s passionate about youth development and creating impactful programs? The City of Peoria’s Neighborhood & Human Services Department is looking for a Youth Services Coordinator to help shape the future of our city’s youth programs – and we want you on our team!
In this exciting role within the Family & Youth Services Division, you’ll play a key leadership role in managing and enhancing high-quality childcare and enrichment programs for school aged children. You’ll have the opportunity to directly oversee 6+ before and after school sites during the academic year and 2-3 summer camp locations – all designed to provide safe, engaging and fun environments for youth ages 5 to 14. As part of your role, you’ll collaborate with an energetic and dedicated team to:
- Support the growth and improvement of 21 AM/PM (before & after school) program sites located within the Peoria Unified School District
- Help manage our Lil’ Learners preschool program at the Sunrise Family Center
- Mentor, support and inspire a team of site leaders and staff
We are seeking a service-driven, organized and relationship-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Proven supervisory experience in before/after school programs
- Solid understanding of childcare regulations and licensing standards, preferably with experience navigating the Department of Health Services or similar agencies
- A creative and energetic approach to planning and delivering youth programs
- A true passion for working with children and enhancing their daily experiences
- Proven ability to think critically and solve complex problems

As a Family & Youth Services Coordinator, you’ll play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional programs and services. Your day-to-day work will include:
- Leading a dedicated team: Recruiting, training and inspiring a large team of part-time seasonal staff, fostering a positive, high-performing work environment.
- Championing safety and compliance: Ensuring all activities follow safety protocols and meet regulatory and licensing standards – keeping our before and after school programs safe, compliant and trusted.
- Delivering excellent service: Responding to customer questions by phone, email and in person with professionalism, empathy and commitment to top-tier customer service.
- Driving program success: Overseeing budgets, forecasting revenue and expense, and analyzing program performance followed by recommendations for smart strategic improvements to meet divisional goals.
