Description
Responsible for safe operation of lifts and lift operation activities including but not limited to scheduling, training, record keeping, employee motivation and direction, adherence to company and industry standards and thorough documentation in all mentioned areas.
Requirements
- Lead department training program.
- Assist Lift Ops Manager with scheduling and proper documentation.
- Promote a professional atmosphere throughout department.
- Perform pre-season and ongoing training and documentation to meet industry and company standards.
- Maintain comprehensive and current records required to meet ANSI B77 codes.
- Lead daily pre-op meeting and other interdepartmental meetings.
- Ensure compliance of dress and grooming standards within department.
- Ensure lifts are operational and on time; ramps and lift stations are kept to standards.
- Follow and enforce instructions and rules contained in the lift operations handbook.
- Coordinate with Grooming Dept on lift related grooming needs.
- Coordinate with Ski Patrol for seasonal lift evacuation training.
- Create opportunities for staff education.
- Report lift maintenance needs to Lift Maintenance Department in a timely manner.
- Have in-depth knowledge of all lift terminals. Train staff on all aspects of lift operations.
- Assume duties of Lift Ops Mgr. in his/her absence.
- Exercise sound judgment and awareness regarding language, behavior, and dress and grooming.
- Actively participate in RLK and Company’s Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace.
- Exercise stewardship of all RLK and Company facilities and environments, ensuring that efforts are made to reduce, reuse, and recycle when the opportunity is present.
- Present a professional, quality image at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be professional in words and actions at all times.
- Must have thorough working knowledge of area lifts and their operation.
- Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must have excellent leadership and motivational skills.
- Must have excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Must have good computer skills including but not limited to Word documents, scheduling and data base programs.
- Must have excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to operate snowmobile and snow-cat.
- Must be able to perform all duties of Lift Operators.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to repeatedly lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in snow, icy, uneven and slippery conditions.
- Must be able to work in extreme conditions such as but not limited to sun, cold, wind, rain.
- Must be able to perform repetitive movements for an extended period of time.
- Must be able to Ski/SB through entire lift system.
