Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary contact for college financial planning for prospective and current students at UHWO.
- Provide expert knowledge and guidance regarding financial aid access and completion at the state and national level.
- Provide technical responses to financial aid issues for students and parents, including financial concerns related to the impacts of COVID-19.
- Provide student services and instruction through online and virtual presentations and workshops.
- Serve as a primary contact for FAFSA and college financial literacy at Oahu High Schools and Community Colleges.
- Assist scholarship committees for UH Foundation and Institutional scholarships.
- Collaborate and coordinate active management of tools, processes, and relationships for efficient financial aid delivery of services.
- Construct and assemble date for campus financial aid, decision-making, develop conclusions, and present high-level summary of recommendations.
- Contribute to unit and organization strategy; assist in the development of change management plans and materials as needed. Participate as a member of program team to support new initiatives. Make decisions determining approach to managing and completing processes.
- May act as a lead, train, coach, and review the work of other staff, as needed. Contribute primarily through applying corporate and individual expertise. Attend relevant campus, UH system, and local and national federal financial aid training to support ongoing professional development.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in providing educational services and assistance to students, including student financial aid administration.
- Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques in student financial aid as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent stand and evolving concepts, principles, and methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to design and conduct effective financial aid presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multicultural populations.
