Job Summary

Sr. Mammography Technologist: A CRT licensed Mammography Technologist performing screening and diagnostic breast imaging and procedures. This technologist must be able to produce ACR quality images in both diagnostic and screening exams. This technologist is able to interact with clinicians and other departments to coordinate patient care. This technologist is able to evolve with radiology information system (RIS) and PACS systems. This technologist must participate in performance improvement activities in the department. Maintains appropriate quality control records and participates in routine equipment testing and maintenance.  Additionally, this Mammography Technologist must be willing to train and interact with students and new hires when necessary.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $73.87 - 91.84 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a JCERT accredited radiology technology training program.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing to assist at any of the UCSF Medical Center Locations.
  • Minimum of (three) 3 years of Mammography experience
  • CRT (M) Mammography Certification
  • CRT (R) Radiologic Technologist Certification
  • BLS Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification
  • Requires proof of mammography - specific training of at least 40 documented hours, if certified after April 27, 1999.
  • Requires proof of having performed at least 200 mammography exams in the last 24 months (rolling 24-month calendar)
  • Requires certificates of at least 15 CEUs in Mammography in the last 36-month period (rolling 36 month calendar).
  • Requires proof of MQSA approved 8 hours each of Digital and 3D Tomosynthesis training.
  • Proof of initial 25 supervised mammograms
  • Ability to perform job duties in a reliable, responsible and timely fashion. 
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under any workload and/or patient volume.
  • Ability to be respectful of everyone, including those of different backgrounds, beliefs and gender
  • Knowledge of Radiology Information System and related downtime procedure, to include the proper scheduling and completion of patient exams.
  • Knowledge of the Medical Centers’ current Electronic Health record and ordering systems.
  • Knowledge of the related Breast Imaging systems and selects the correct patient and exam from worklists.
  • Knowledge of the Incident Reporting System
  • Leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks, needing little or no supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ARRT (R) (M)
  • Prefer breast ultrasound experience
  • CRT Fluoroscopy License

License/Certification

  • CRT (M) Mammography Certification
  • CRT (R) Radiologic Technologist Certification
