The person appointed would be expected to:

  • Assist and support teaching staff in a range of educational activities, both on and off the College premises.
  • Support teaching staff to develop the curriculum for students with special educational needs.
  • Take responsibility for the supervision of groups of students to aid cognitive development.
  • Assist in the teaching of Foundation Learning skills.
  • Share responsibility with teaching staff in supervising groups of students on visits.
  • Be responsible for small groups of students in learning situations outside the College environment.
  • Supervise students in practical areas including recreation areas and outdoor facilities. 
  • Assist and support teaching staff in a range of educational activities, both on and off the College premises.

  • Take responsibility for the supervision of groups of students to aid cognitive development.
  • Assist in the teaching of Foundation Learning skills.
  • Share responsibility with teaching staff in supervising groups of students on visits.
  • Be responsible for small groups of students in learning situations outside the College environment.
  • Supervise students in practical areas including recreation areas and outdoor facilities. 
  • Assist teaching staff in devising learning programmes and with the observation of students and record keeping.
  • Undertake general supervision of students at lunchtime and break times.
  • Personal care to be part of the role as and when required.
  • Undertake on-going training and development as required.
  • Observe and implement the College’s Equality & Diversity policy.
  • Assist in the escort of students, during college hours if required, into and out of college at arrival and departure times of the special minibus.
  • To attend meetings and complete mandatory training in accordance with the colleges meeting/training schedule 
  • To assist at the colleges Open Evenings / Consultation Evenings 
  • Each member of the College will take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself/herself and persons who may be affected by his/her omissions at work. 
  • To undertake any other duties as may be assigned commensurate with the grade and overall responsibility level of the post and as changing circumstances may require. 
 

Contract and salary information

Hours of work: 27 hours per week, term time only
Contract: Temporary until 31st August 2026
Start Date: As soon as possible
Closing Date: 9am on Friday 10th October 2025, we reserve the right to close this vacancy early.
Salary: Point 6 to 8 - £25,558 to £26,343 per annum (payable £15,408.53 to £15,881.79 per annum depending on experience)
