Data Analyst II (Hybrid - Columbia, SC)
Data Analyst II, as part of the Business Intelligence team, assists with data analysis, testing, reconciliations, regression, data quality, documentation, and reporting, including regulatory reporting activities. They support the Lead Data Analyst and other team members in a fast-paced, project-driven environment, focusing on data validation, SQL, data requirements, and agile methodology processes. The Analyst II must be detail-oriented and knowledgeable in reporting domains, Business Intelligence constructs, and regulatory reporting duties.
What You’ll Do
- Gather and Document Requirements – Identify and define data and reporting needs through collaboration and analysis.
- Data Analysis – Use tools like Excel, SQL, and MS Teams to refine requirements and provide actionable insights.
- Developer Collaboration – Partner with developers to define data needs and support reporting, including regulatory compliance.
- Data Quality Assurance – Conduct reconciliations and testing to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Issue Resolution – Investigate and resolve data quality issues using SQL, profiling, and team input.
- Impact Assessment – Evaluate the business impact of data quality issues and prioritize resolution efforts.
- Testing & Validation – Develop and apply test cases and procedures to validate data and reporting outputs.
- Root Cause Analysis – Identify underlying causes of operational issues and recommend process improvements.
- Cross-Team Support – Assist teams and stakeholders with data needs, automation, and reporting support.
- Continuous Learning & Flexibility – Participate in agile activities, special projects, and ongoing professional development.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analysis or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in data analysis, including requirements gathering, issue resolution, and documentation.
- Proficiency in SQL and understanding of database structures and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting (e.g., Loans2, CECL, YBS, or agricultural regulations) is a plus.
- Experience with data quality tools and best practices for documenting data requirements.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills across all organizational levels.
- Comfortable working independently in Agile/Scrum environments with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
