Your Responsibilities

 

As a Senior Software Engineer for John Deere in Moline, IL, you will:

 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to ensure features meet business needs;
  • Design, develop, and test codes required to deliver desired functionality;
  • Create necessary documentation to facilitate long-term support of product;
  • Develop work estimates to facilitate team planning processes;
  • Follow Agile software delivery methodology;
  • Perform delivery using current technologies and practices;
  • Troubleshoot reported production problems and incidents and support their resolution;
  • Mentor other team members on areas of expertise.

 

What Skills You Need

 

  • 5 years of experience developing Enterprise software written in COBOL, SAS, JCL, IMS Transactions, Panvalet, RMDS, ISAN, ESP running in IBM z/OS Mainframe and z/OS Connect (OpenAPI 2)
  • 5 years of experience in relational database design, implemented in DB2 v12 for z/OS. Includes creation and alter of: triggers, stored procedures, tables, views, aliases, and indexes. IBM Db2 utilities (LOAD, UNLOAD, REORG, RUNSTATS, RECOVER) in z/OS environments for batch processing, efficient data ingestion, transformation, optimization workflows, data recovery and data integrity
  • 5 years of experience in writing complex SQL including INNER and OUTER joins and performance monitoring and tuning using APPTUNE for z/OS
  • 3 years of experience in relational database design, implemented in AWS RDS using Aurora Postgres. Includes creation and alter of: triggers, stored procedures, tables, views, aliases, and indexes
  • 3 years of experience with DevOps principles and Continuous Integration using GitHub Enterprise Server
  • 3 years of experience in designing and implementing application solutions in AWS using EC2, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and RDS
  • 3 years of experience with shipping and logistics process management systems and applications
  • 1 year of experience delivering software in Agile (Scrum) software delivery methodology

 

Education/Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field plus 5 years related experience.
