About the Role
Grampians Health Ballarat is seeking dynamic, progressive and energetic Registered Nurses who would like to develop an exciting career in the Operating Suite and Perioperative Day Unit.
This program commences in February 2026 and is a one-year commitment contract. If you have exceptional clinical skills, a commitment to quality and a passion for extending your knowledge, then this is the position for you.
- Be supported in clinical experiences and facilitated rotations through all surgical specialties, recovery and Perioperative Day Units.
- Clinical Support and Clinical Education Nurses will assist your transition and learning between the various areas
- Scrub/Scout, Recovery and Perioperative Day unit learning opportunities
Key Responsibilities
- Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will be expected to facilitate and foster best practice nursing and service delivery to our patients and their families within the Operating Suite and Perioperative Day Unit.
- Commitment to one education day per month
- Ensures and promotes an excellent standard of care and service is delivered
- Supports the Nurse Unit Manager and the team to review and evaluate best practice, evidence based clinical care
- Team ethic is required as you will be working within a large team
Skills and Experience
- Be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold a current Practicing Certificate
- Experience in the Perioperative unit and/or Operating Suite desirable
- Applicants must have a passion and desire to extend their knowledge and develop their skills in these specialised areas

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2028. The classification is Registered Nurse Grade 2 (YP2 - YP9) which ranges from $41.36 - $52.20 per hour.
