Job Description
Summary
The Principal Pricing Analyst leads various types of proposals for development, production, and competitive contracts works on large/complex proposals. This role leads and supports reviews of all estimates prior to delivery and review by senior management.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leads pricing support for all phases of the proposal process - proposal development thru negotiations.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the current regulatory environment relative to the submission of proposals to the Federal government (FAR, DFARS, TINA, etc.)
- Develops complex cost, pricing, and business models
- Effectively organizes and leads a proposal team to support large proposals
- Assesses RFP cost volume requirements and translates them into a fully compliant cost proposal.
- Uses proposal analysis to impact proposal quality, cost realism and reasonableness via Basis of Estimating reviews and by using comparisons to other practice
- Effectively manages proposal development with the business development process and pricing & estimating policies
- Supports proposal audits (pre and post award)
- Mentors pricing analysts and associated staff
- Develops plans including budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements for program
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Minimum 12 – 15 years’ of relevant experience, including Estimating & Pricing and/or Finance in a government contracting and manufacturing environment
- Superior experience in costing and pricing complex manufactured products for military contracts
- In depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS and TINA
- Analytical individual with strong interpersonal and computer skills
- Excellent MS Excel skills; along with other MS Office Products
- Proven ability to interface with senior management
- Ability to travel as needed

Physical Demands

- Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)
Special Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.
The salary range for this role is:
$120,686 - $170,940AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.

This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
