Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Technical Trainer is responsible for consulting, development, preparing, conducting, and evaluating technical training programs for Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). Writes literature and materials to be used in programs and designs exercises to enhance lectures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares and conduct technical training programs which includes presentations and webinars.
  • Assesses training needs and certification requirements.
  • Deploys training to targeted personnel.
  • Prepares training material and classroom agenda.
  • Provides end users training for client.
  • Creates instructor materials (course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids).
  • Assists in design of computer-based and multimedia curriculum. Continuously enhance technical instructional delivery and presentation skills.
  • Works with other technical trainers in the subject matter, content, and course delivery techniques for assigned technical courses.
  • Ensures the quality and consistency of course content throughout a course life cycle.
  • Plans and directs classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, and other computer-aided instructional technologies, simulators, conferences and workshops.
  • Ensures data integrity within the Learning Management System. Identifies appropriate metrics and measures are in place to evaluate effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develops tracking and communication protocols for coordination with Learning Management System.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and five (5) years of related experience.
  • OR
  • Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will also bring:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to create clear, user-friendly training materials and job aids, including technical documentation
  • Proficiency with software and learning technologies
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and audiences
  • Experience developing training for system implementations
  • Familiarity with student information systems (SIS); Workday Student experience preferred
  • Training delivery experience in higher education settings
  • Experience working in project-based environments
  • Commitment to supporting and engaging diverse learners

There are two positions available for this posting. These positions are limited-term appointments ending December 31, 2027.

These positions will report to the Manager of Employee Learning & Organizational Development and will collaborate closely with SIS leadership and team members to support the Workday Student implementation project.
