Description
American Bin and Conveyor is looking for a Saw Operator at our Burlington, Wisconsin manufacturing facility. The Saw Operator reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for cutting steel per cut lists and drawing specifications and staging cut material for fabrication. Must be forklift certified or able to obtain certification through our program. Must possess the ability to operate overhead crane and read a ruler to the 16th of an inch. Must be able to perform tasks accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining all Company safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate vertical & horizontal band saws to cut steel per specs
- Unload steel shipments using rigging and overhead cranes
- Stage and prepare cut material for fabrication teams
- Read blueprints and measure accurately with tape, calipers, and micrometers
- Safely use forklifts, cranes, grinders, and hand tools (training provided)
- Complies with all company safety policies and procedures and practices safe work habits.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to operate overhead crane, mobile crane and fork trucks (we will train)
- Experience in metal fabrication, steel cutting, or machine shop work preferred (we will train motivated candidates)
- Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16” and basic blueprints
- Safety-focused, reliable, and team -oriented
- Successfully pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical.
