Refugee Resettlement assists in helping create a home-away-from-home, we assist government-approved refugees in becoming self-sufficient through cultural orientation, job development, family reunification and resettlement.
The Manager, Employment is responsible for ensuring the proper implementation of the Employment Services programs in the Refugee Resettlement department in accordance with the grant requirements. The Manager, Employment will provide support and oversight for the Employment Supervisors. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the Employment program, display the ability to professionally communicate with funders, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
What you Deliver
- Improve case file documentation and provide trainings to staff on best practices for working with clients in the employment services program.
- Communicate with the State Refugee Coordinator to problem solve or to provide technical assistance to staff working in the employment services program. Intervene and offer guidance for difficult cases.
- Prepare and monitor requests for financial assistance associate with the employment program (bus vouchers, payments for uniforms, etc.). Prepare monthly report for accounting and complete periodic reports required by the agency as well as the Texas Office for Refugees (TXOR).
- Provide quality improvement for the Employment Services program.
- Ensure that all Employment Services staff are updated on guidelines given by TXOR.
- Coordinate interpretation and translation services for clients, as needed.
- Maintaining client files and assuring completeness and compliance with agency quality and compliance as well as funder requirements. Ensuring that all data entered into Client Track for the Employment Services program is accurate and timely.
- Collaborate with the Managers and Supervisors from other programs in the refugee resettlement department to provide comprehensive, holistic, and thorough services to all clients.
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
The Expertise We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field
- Three (3) years of experience in a social service setting or similar setting
- Two (2) year of experience in a leadership role
- Valid Texas Driver’s License

Nonprofit experience is preferred, but not required.
