Texican Court is located in Irving, TX and is a pillar of the community. DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
Essential:
Parks and controls the flow of cars through the hotel.
Acknowledge every car that drives through the hotel
Open all doors for guests.
Greet arriving and departing guests
Follow all procedures for parking a vehicle in hotel valet lot.
Assess vehicle for damage and contents upon parking.
Accurately fill out valet parking ticket.
Maintain a key log and organized key storage system.
Assist guests with directions and information of the hotel and surrounding areas.
Direct guests to daily functions within hotel.
Continuously maintain safety and proper care of guest vehicles.
Maintain accurate financial record of “day park” revenue on a daily basis.
Complete errands as requested by Valencia Services and other Hotel Valencia departments.
Interact with guests as needed to ensure optimum guest service.
Serve as alternate or additional bellman or doorman when required.
Escort incoming hotel guests to rooms.
Assist with transportation and handling of luggage.
Offer information pertaining to available services and facilities of hotel, points of interest, directions, and dining options.
Explain hotel amenities and features of room, such as operation of radio, television, climate control, and how to place telephone calls.
Inspect guest's room to ensure furnishings are in order and supplies are adequate upon guest escort.
Deliver packages, luggage, and other guest belongings.
Deliver fax messages, emails, laundry, and runs errands.
Call taxis for guests.
Complete errands as requested by guest services and other Texican Court departments.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Texican Court standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance, demeanor, and grooming; which includes wearing the proper uniform while working.
Comply at all times with Hotel Valencia Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
Perform other job-related duties as directed.
Basics:
Must have valid Texas driver's license and a clear driving record for the previous 36 months.
Must be physically capable of handling the weight of guest luggage.
Familiarity of the property and the Irving area is helpful.
Must have excellent verbal communication skills, an aptitude for guest service, and the ability to work with constant schedule changes.
Ability to read, write and speak English. Knowledge of foreign language a plus.
Ability to interact with guests and associates.
Visual observation skills required.
Must have a cheerful, positive attitude, work well with others and be able to remain calm
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Standing/Walking: 8 hours. At Front Drive and in hotel. Cement, tile, and carpet.
Crouching (Bend at knees): Frequently. When getting supplies from bell closet, picking up luggage from vehicles and floor, and loading the bell cart with luggage.
Stooping (bend at waist): Constantly. Getting luggage, packages, and other guest belongings. Entering vehicles.
Twisting (knees/waist/neck): Constantly. When working with several people at once; watching for guests; retrieving luggage, and assisting guests.
Reaching (overhead/extension): Constantly. Passing luggage and packages to guests and co-workers.
Handling/Grasping: Constantly. Handling luggage, packages, parcel, hotel supplies, grasping pens, telephones, and reports.
Pushing/Pulling: Average weight frequently 10 lbs. Maximum weight occasionally 50 lbs.
Lifting/Carrying: Average weight frequently 10 lbs. Maximum weight occasionally 50 lbs
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Interior and exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions
