MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have one of the following:
- Completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education;
- Obtained an Associate's degree; OR
- Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment of knowledge, the ability to assist in instructing:
- Reading, writing, and mathematics, or
- Reading readiness, writing readiness and mathematics readiness.
- Creative person interested in working with children.
- Working knowledge of computer and word processing.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with staff, parents and students.
PERFORMANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIILITIES (summary includes but is not limited to the following):
- To work with 31a eligible students.
- Assists in supervision of students.
- Provide appropriate discipline to insure safety of students at all times.
- Record appropriate information.
- Work with small groups of students or individuals under the direction of the teacher.
- Assist teacher in education of the students through research based academic interventions.
- Assist in the administration of first aid when necessary.
- Follow building policy.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with staff.
- Experience in working with computers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by New Directions teacher, building principal or director.
REQUIREMENTS:
Newly hired employees must satisfactorily pass:
- Reference checks
- Police clearance including digital fingerprinting.
ANNUAL SALARY:
$45,000 - $55,000 grant funding dependent. Exceptional administrative fringe benefits available.
RETENTION BONUS:
$10,000 bonus available for the 2025-2026 school year, grant funding dependent.
