The Sustainability Analyst plays an important role in advancing UL Solutions sustainability goals. The role serves as UL Solutions’ sustainability data and software (e.g., UL 360) expert and administrator. With direction the analyst assists with writing business and integration requirements, manages data collection, validation and analysis, coordinates system configurations, monitors system performance and develops reports and dashboards to support the organization’s Sustainability/ESG data needs.
Responsibilities
- Business requirements documentation
- Collaborate with the Sustainability team and internal stakeholders to define data ownership, document requirements for features, functionality, configurations and integrations to meet sustainability data management and reporting/control requirements.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external application and product teams to ensure the software meets UL Solutions’ business requirements and supports voluntary and regulatory ESG reporting frameworks.
- Data collection and management
- Manage and review sustainability data from various sources, including internal and external partners, and ensure proper integration into system.
- Identify and triage data errors and data gaps and escalate to the appropriate internal stakeholders for remediation.
- Maintain UL Solutions user information and organizational hierarchy and data structure in the system.
- Oversee data quality and governance ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of the data.
- Support development, configuration and maintenance of sustainability data controls within the system.
- Software and integrations
- Ensure system is current and coordinate with application teams for system maintenance and enhancements
- Verify system maintenance and enhancements meet business requirements including Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions calculation setup
- Ensure smooth sustainability data integration across platforms and data sources meet integration requirements
- Work with internal and external software development to coordinate system issues, defects and fixes
- Evaluates processes and tools for efficiency, scalability, and automation opportunities
- Reporting
- Build and maintain templated reports based on reporting frameworks
- Run scheduled and ad hoc reports.
- Translate complex sustainability data into clear insights and visualizations for dashboards, stakeholder reporting and performance tracking
- Perform other essential research, analysis and maintenance to support Sustainability initiatives
Qualifications
Education / Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, environmental science, engineering, computer science or a related field.
- 5+ years experience as business analyst in data management or product management with exposure to sustainability data and reporting
- Experienced in project management, business requirements documentation and data management
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with software design principles and user experience optimization.
- Adaptable to shifting priorities
- Experience with enterprise sustainability platforms preferred (e.g., UL360, Watershed, Microsoft Sustainability Manager)

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $82,000 to $100,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 10% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
