Description
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Program is designed to provide hands-on training, education support, and career advancement opportunities while meeting the patient care needs of RMS. Participants will work under the supervision of providers and nurses, assisting with routine patient care, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks, while completing CMA certification.
Program Commitments:
- Hands-on Training: Gain real-world experience while working full-time.
- Education Support: RMS covers the cost of tuition and initial certification.
- Career Advancement: Secure a full-time CMA position upon certification.
- Commitment Agreement: Candidates commit to working with RMS for three years post-certification.
- Reimbursement Clause: If employment ends before the three-year commitment, participants must reimburse RMS for educational expenses
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide routine clinical support under the supervision of licensed providers and nurses.
- Prepare exam rooms, maintain a clean and safe patient environment.
- Collect and document patient information (vital signs, medical history, allergies, etc.).
- Assist with exams, procedures, and patient education.
- Perform basic laboratory procedures and prepare requisitions.
- Administer medications and injections as directed.
- Support scheduling, referrals, and insurance documentation.
- Utilize the electronic health record (EHR) system for documentation and communication.
- Follow OSHA, infection control, and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and respect for diverse patient populations.
Requirements
Education and Licensure Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must achieve and maintain CMA certification.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency with computers and EHR systems.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Exposure to clinical environments, including potential biohazards and infectious diseases.
- Must adhere to safety and PPE requirements.
