We are looking for an Analyzer Technician Trainee to join our NAF team in Freeport, TX.

As an Analyzer Technician Trainee for our Freeport Quality business unit, you will build a meaningful career while supporting BASF’s Lab Services division that maintains and services analyzer systems across the entire site in Freeport, TX.

During your shift as a Analyzer Technician Trainee, you will

 

  • Perform routine, scheduled, and preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of Process Analyzers to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with Plant Operations to meet analytical needs and support continuous process improvement.
  • Document all Process Analyzer activities accurately and consistently.
  • Work closely with fellow analyzer technicians to carry out routine, extraordinary, and turnaround tasks.
  • Support EHS initiatives by complying with environmental, safety, and health regulations while promoting a safe work environment.
  • Maintain high standards of productivity, quality, housekeeping, and safety, and comply with all company policies.
  • Regularly track and update assigned tasks in the maintenance management system and be available for on-call maintenance support.
  • Safely handle hazardous materials as defined by OSHA, using appropriate personal protective equipment when required.

If you...

 

  • Have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of craft experience (preferably as an analyzer technician).
  • Possess an AAS Degree in Electronics, Electricity, or Instrumentation (preferred).
  • Are experienced in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining online process analyzers.
  • Can read and update electrical and instrument documents such as schematics, specifications, P&IDs, and one-line diagrams.
  • Have a solid working knowledge of chemical plant equipment and technologies, along with strong oral/written communication and personal computer skills.
  • Demonstrate math, reading, and problem-solving skills, as well as mechanical aptitude.
