The Opportunity
We are looking for a detail-oriented Corporate Tax Accountant with solid corporate tax experience and exposure to international compliance. This role will primarily focus on tax reporting, return preparation, and compliance support, assisting with international matters such as intercompany transactions, transfer pricing documentation, and withholding tax obligations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent organization, and a collaborative approach to working with global finance teams.
You will be working closely with the UK based Group Tax Manager to ensure accurate and timely tax accounting, tax reporting and tax compliance across the group. Remit covers New Zealand, the UK, Australia, Denmark, France, Singapore, the US, India and Saudi Arabia. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a dynamic environment, excelling in both accounting principles and technical expertise. You will play a key role in driving process improvements, enhancing system capabilities, and empowering finance team members through comprehensive training and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist with corporate income tax returns across the Gentrack Group.
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual provisional income tax payments.
- Monitor withholding tax requirements on cross-border payments and support compliance with local reporting rules either directly or through local partners.
- Maintain accurate tax workpapers, supporting schedules, and compliance documentation.
- Conduct basic tax research and support the finance teams with evolving tax compliance requirements in areas of indirect taxes.
- Collaborate with external advisors and internal stakeholders on compliance-related projects.
- Assist with tax accounting, and half-year/year-end reporting under IFRS.
- Coordinate with finance teams on intercompany charges and the preparation of transfer pricing documentation requirements.
- Oversee and monitor intercompany working capital funding loans.
- Support the preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
- Assist with other areas of tax compliance such as R&D tax credit claim, ESS (share scheme) reporting, tax aspects of people mobility and other as required.
What we're looking for:
Professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years corporate tax experience with exposure to international tax.
- Big 4 (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC) or top-tier tax firm experience with strong focus on multination companies.
- Working knowledge of transfer pricing and withholding tax.
- Experience working with tax compliance in multiple jurisdictions.
- Advanced IT skills such as Excel, ERP systems (NetSuite an advantage).
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures skills.
