The Warehouse Lead plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the Famous Supply Distribution Center. In this role you will be an active daily participant in all warehouse functions. You will provide support and direction as needed to Warehouse Associates and other team members as needed. You will support in training and onboarding new Associates, act as a point person for problem solving and escalations and make a critical impact on our business as a leader in the operation.
Starting wage: $22/hour + shift differential
Primary Job Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Lead performs, and leads a team of Associates in, the following daily tasks:
- Unloading trucks
- Receiving material
- Put-away of material
- Picking, Staging, Shipping, and Loading
- Small project and maintenance work
- Cleaning
- Any other projects & tasks needed to successfully run the daily operation
- Ensuring product is handled with care to prevent damage
- Following proper quality checks on outbound deliveries
- Training of Associates under the guidance of the Warehouse and Shift Manager
- Adhere to all safety protocols
- Ensure safe operation of all equipment
- Provide clear direction and expectations for all Associates
***Note: Famous Supply Associates will handle large products such as water heaters, furnaces and showers***
Required Experience and Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Problem solving
- 1-3 years of Team Lead experience in a Warehouse setting
- Strong experience using various types of warehouse equipment
- Strong integrity
- Reliability – You will help set the tone, energy, and expectations of Warehouse Associates
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to stand on feet for majority of an 8+ hour day
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- 3-5 years of experience working in a warehouse setting with progressive responsibility in a Lead role
- Building industry experience and requisite product knowledge
- Experience using RF Scanners
- Safety training
- Forklift certification
