The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Campus Facilities Assistant to provide professional facilities support for the buildings on the Holyrood campus, acting as a first point of contact for staff, students and visitors and assisting with health & safety checks across the Holyrood campus.

 

The University of Edinburgh’s Holyrood campus is home to Moray House School of Education and Sport (MHSES) and the Centre for Open Learning (COL).  It contains a wide range of specialist facilities including laboratories, workshops, art and music studios and sports facilities, as well as general teaching and office space, spread across eight buildings off Holyrood Road. 

 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in facilities or operations to assist in the delivery of a facilities management service. We are looking for someone with good customer service, teamworking and interpersonal skills. The candidate should have basic problem-solving abilities, high confidence in a physically active role, and be comfortable providing first aid support. 

 

This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and open ended. The shift pattern for this role is fixed at 11:00 – 19:00, Monday to Friday, although this may change based on operational needs.

 

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Experience in a customer service setting with a strongly developed sense of service delivery and customer focused approach 
  • Ability to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and good level of accuracy in data entry
  • Ability to work as team member whilst under pressure
  • Confidence in carrying out a range of physical tasks, including regular manual handling across the campus
