Senior Bar Captain – Crosby Street Hotel
Are you passionate about creating memorable experiences for guests? We’re looking for a friendly, professional Senior Bar Captain to join our team!
Beverage Program Management
- Curate, develop, and maintain the full beverage program, including cocktails, wine, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic offerings.
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with brand standards.
- Ensure compliance with all alcohol regulations and company policies.
- Liaise with F&B manager and hotel controller for all of the above.
Team Leadership & Training
- Lead, train, and mentor the bar team, ensuring high standards of service, product knowledge, and hospitality.
- Support staff development and create pathways for career growth within the team.
Health, Safety & Cleanliness
- Maintain strict compliance with health department regulations and company policies.
- Enforce and monitor the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all bar areas.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure bar equipment and workstations meet safety and hygiene standards.
Scheduling & Operations Oversight
- Create and manage the bar schedule, balancing coverage, and team needs.
- Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring smooth service and adherence to company standards.
- Troubleshoot service issues and provide on-the-spot leadership during peak periods.
Guest Experience & Standards
- Uphold a culture of excellence in hospitality, ensuring the bar consistently delivers a memorable guest experience.
- Act as the point of contact for VIP guests or special beverage requests.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety across all bar areas.
Financial Accountability
- Analyze beverage cost percentages and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
- Track sales trends, develop seasonal menus, and create specialty offerings to drive revenue.
- Collaborate with F&B manager to set and achieve beverage program goals.
Program Development & Innovation
- Continuously research industry trends to keep the program innovative and competitive.
- Implement seasonal updates, specialty events (cocktail classes, tastings), and promotional offerings.
- Represent the property/brand in beverage-related press, competitions, or partnerships as needed.
