Summary
Partner Engineering and Science is seeking a full-time Civil Engineer to work in our Asbury Park, New Jersey office. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of progressive design experience in land and site development projects, including preparation of site plan, subdivision and regulatory agency applications. Also, having an interest in and/or experience with Solar, Renewable, and Sustainability projects is a plus!
Responsibilities and Duties
- Ability to plan, and design projects
- Team player and initiator who wants to help grow and expand a civil design department
- AutoCAD 3D experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
- Willing to train and teach younger staff,
- Strong storm water management design skills and thorough knowledge of New Jersey storm water rules, including recently adopted rules
- Experienced in site civil design for small to large-sized residential, commercial and industrial projects for private clients
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Using a range of computer packages for developing detailed designs
- Liaison with clients and a variety of professionals including architects, environmental consultants, developers, builders and contractors
- Design/drafting of site plans and subdivisions from concept plans through approvals/permits
- Design of underground utilities
- Coordinating staff resources.
- Report preparation, including storm water management reports
- Permit application processing, including preparation of all supporting documents
- Using computer-aided design (CAD) packages for designing projects
- Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects
- Recommend new approaches and ideas that continuously improve efficiency and services performed
- Experienced with or willing to gain experience in civil engineering design of Solar, Renewable and Sustainability projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Civil Engineering
- PE license in New Jersey or working towards a PE License.
- The ability to learn quickly, along with strong communication skills, and a solid work ethic.
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
- Minimum 4-8 years of progressive design experience in land and site development, particularly in preparing plans and design production, preparation of site plan and subdivision applications.
- Some experience in representing projects before approval authorities, such as Planning Boards, Zoning Boards, City Councils, etc. a plus but not necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Storm water management design skills and thorough knowledge of current and pending New Jersey storm water rules
- AutoCAD 3D proficiency
- Organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple projects at once
- Ability to meet deadlines and objectives, and to work under pressure
- Can-do attitude with a strong desire to be part of a team. Works well with people at all levels within the organization
- Ability to learn quickly, along with strong communication skills, and a solid work ethic.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
COMPENSATION
Salary range is $80,000 to $100,000. This is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role.
The pay scale for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note that the disclosed pay scale estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location where the position may be filled.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive bonus program, which is dependent on various factors, including, but not limited to, individual and organizational performance.
