The Senior Professional Engineer will service some of our MAJOR brand clients in Florida and across the Southeast requiring a unique blend of experience and expertise across land development site civil infrastructure! This is a position for a dynamic individual who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and organized with an exceptional communication skill set and understanding of the consulting business.
We are seeking a strong team addition and team player (less focus on title and more focus on doing what you love daily – and giving it your BEST every day). They must bring a high-level business acumen to skillfully navigate all client interactions, communications, and meetings in the best interest of the project and CPH. The Professional Engineer will actively exercise their land development site civil expertise in technical design, mentorship, and oversight for full-cycle end-to-end project management of all solutions specific to undeveloped land projects and deliverables for our valued clients.

- Sr. Professional Engineer, Site/Civil – Land Development Expert

Thus, our Professional Engineer serves as the client’s trusted advisor and designated resource POC for land development projects as well as all site and civil needs from general consultation to full scope concept to final execution of all deliverables.
Our Professional Engineer provides hands-on oversight of projects and the team with active participation in all project facets. The project facets will include client meetings, development of project scope, specs, timelines, and ensuring all projects are delivered within a timely fashion and aligned with all quality standards and expectations as set per client and industry compliance and permitting.
WHO ARE WE SEEKING?
This individual must be a dynamic leader with a gift for effective communication in their area of expertise fusing both a strong technical design skill and understanding with professional knowledge to service clients and provide sufficient written and verbal communications. The PE must be able to effectively convey complex land development solutions to the clients in terminology that is both educated and well-received for making key design and financial decisions to ensure optimal delivery of solution from resources, finances, and overall concept to function.
WHAT CAN THEY DO WELL?
- Conflict Resolution & Skilled Communication
The Professional Engineer should bring a strong understanding of process and conflict resolution with a track record of success in navigating hard topics and conversations for risk mitigation with clients, internal teams/staff, and vendors. The individual will possess the ability to skillfully navigate discussions regarding the importance of key deadlines, materials/inventory, cost estimates, site visits, observations, crucial pain points, labor, action plans, and potential financial impact of mistakes. You must be a strong and perceptive communicator with staff, colleagues, clients, vendors, and numerous stakeholders.
- Staff Mentorship & Collaborative Team Approach
The ability to mentor junior staff and foster growth to position a cross-functional and collaborative team to support routine technical design, ongoing quality control, light client exposure, and knowledge and expertise of permitting. This individual will prioritize exercising crucial leadership with CPH clients demonstrating the ability to deliver work with adherence to strict budget and project timelines.
This team will require an individual capable of leading by example for mentorship and oversight on various projects in the land development space – able to not only utilize their expertise in theory, but also in practice with a focus on strong technical design and delivery – talked the talk and you CAN walk the walk. The ideal hire could be characterized as having an “X Factor” to embrace a dynamic energy fostering growth of client relations, team mentorship, further expertise, and constant focus on quality assurance above all else setting the standard for CPH’s work in land development.
- Project Management Expertise
Another key element of this job will require key project management from start of project scope development to finish – utilizing targeted expertise to strategically align our key company business objectives with large-volume projects such as factoring in the finest of variables impacting overall business profitability and utilization of staff. This PE will be highly skilled at resource allocation such as effective delegation and assignment of tasks for optimal utilization of technical skills across the team enlisting staff for delivering quality work both on time and within client budget resulting in best-in-class client product.
- Core Duties & Responsibilities -
- Uses team management skills to lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development.
- Directs development of an action plan and estimates requirements for resources management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project.
- Assesses vendors for competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status.
- Monitors progress of development project and compares actual costs with estimates.
- Works with design group to modify plans as appropriate if problems arise.
- Prepares monthly reports, detailing progress and costs for top management.
- Reviews and studies existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
- Works with operations department in troubleshooting problems.
- Cooperates with project engineers from other plants to share similar problems and solutions.
- To direct an engineering design team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful completion.
- To finish assigned engineering projects in accordance with customer specifications and within schedule and budget limitations, coordinating activities of engineering team, contractors, and vendors.
- Excellent communications and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical skills for reviewing costs and preparing budget reports.
- Experience with AutoCAD and ICPR, as well as general computer skills.
- B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- 5+ years of land development civil engineering experience
- PE Certification
